Spelling, Mental Sums & Phototaking
Dear parents,
SPELLING
The spelling list is out! I've passed the spelling list to the children today. Spelling will commence on the 6th February Monday as shown on the list and subsequent spellings on the following Mondays. For a start, only 5 words will be tested but the list will increase to a total of 10 words as the children get accustomed to spellings.
MENTAL SUMS
I've also requested the children to have a Mental Sums book [lined exercise book]. Mental Sums will be held fortnightly, on Wednesdays [3.30 pm - 4.00 pm] starting from next week [25th Jan 2006]. Mental sums will go like this. The teacher reads out a question [according to topic taught in class] and children will write down the answer in their book. A total of 5 short questions will be tested. I will be pasting the questions on their exercise books after each Mental Sums exercise so that you are aware of the questions tested. Some of the children had already handed up their books to me, but most of them have not. Please ensure that your child hands up his/her book by next Monday.
PHOTOTAKING
The children will be having phototaking on 25th Jan 2006 [Wed]. This is for their Student Smart Card. Please ensure your child is neatly attired in their normal uniform on that day. I hope there will not be absentees on that day as far as possible!!! =)
